Thought to be nearly seven feet tall and live in the caves of the mountains of Salta Province, Argentina, it is said to only leave the mountain at night to eat. This creature seems to be part bigfoot myth, part tale to keep your children in the house at night, but it also terrorizes adults and is said to even attack creatures as large as horses.
A stunningly beautiful area of Argentina, Salta is in the Northern part of Argentina. The Ucumar is thought, today, to be a Spectacled Bear. Endangered, and exceptionally rare, it is similar in size and description to this local legend, which is said to have multicolored fur in a similar pattern to that of these unique bears’ faces.
